We had a big win in the LEWT tournament on Saturday against some of the best on Lake Erie. We found enough to tip the scale in our favor with 35+ lbs today. We had a lot of fun and made the proper decisions and it paid off. Good start and puts us in the lead for team of the year.

Had a very nice time with the Iowa crew for 4 days of fishing. We had some tough days but we pulled it out at the end. We boated a beautiful 30" 11 lb walleye for the wall. We boated some very nice fish throughout the week and sent them home with some nice fish.

What a fantastic day we had today for walleye fishing on Lake Erie. We had to find clean water after the big wind Friday night but we found a very hungry pod of them. We boated 40 walleye today and sent 10 back to swim another day. The weather was as good as it gets for March. we cleared 10 of 12 rods twice what a great bite.

Had a nice trip today with a new friend from the big state of Texas. He has never fished for walleye before nor has he ever eaten one. Well he got the chance to do both, he reeled in a nice limit of walleye today. All the fish where a nice grade and i filleted them up so him and his wife can enjoy them for supper before they head back to Texas. Two trips coming this weekend the weather is looking great.

I was fortunate enough to fish with this fantastic family from southern Indiana on Sunday. They brought their boat up from Indiana and fished on their own on Saturday and struggled to figure out mother Erie. They saw the load of fish we brought in on Saturday and decided to take a trip with me on Sunday to learn how to get the fish. Boy did we give them a lesson. We put a four man limit of very nice walleye in the boat for them to take back home. We had a lot of fun and hope to fish with them again in the future.

Took Scott and his son out for the first Fall Brawl trip for them and Scott landed this great 30" walleye that is sitting in 6th place on the leader board for week one. We took in a 3 man limit of 18 very nice sized walleye today. The weather was great and it was a very nice day on the lake. Scott and his son will be back on November 9th for another shot at a winner.

We spent saturday filling up the livewells out of Lorain Ohio with two trips morning and afternoon. The fall Brawl starts in two weeks and we are taking next week off to get new line on all the rods, all maintenance up to date and the boat fully organized for night fishing. We met at Mazurik launch at 7 am and headed north east to the weather buoy and got on the fish in 50 feet of water. This couple met in Las Vegas, one lives in Canada and one in Missouri' They meet halfway to spend time with each other and i was lucky enough to have them find me and the Pork Chop Express for a nice morning on the lake. We got them their limits of walleye to take home for some nice meals and i made some new friends. Great morning on the lake.

We left Mazurik at 1 pm and got on the fish. we got this repeat crew limits of walleye to take home. had to dodge some rain and some good wind and waves coming back in but the north river cabin kept us dry and boy does she handle the water well. Decent afternoon fishing with this crew and they are coming back to do some fall brawl fishing in November.

We  had a very nice trip this morning with a first time crew that have never fished for walleye. We started setting lines at 7:30 and we had our 18 fish by 10:30 with a nice 27.5" fish. The fish where hungry this morning and made the fishing quick and easy. Lots of nice fish to fill the cooler.

Boy did we get into some nice walleye today. very good grade of fat fish with a nice 10 pounder for the old timer. His best fish of all time 29.5" he is getting it mounted. The two young fellas was first time catching walleye on Erie. Great trip with a great crew catching some very nice walleye.

Had a fantastic trip with the crew from Indiana on a second trip this year.  We made a run out to the weather buoy and got into some nice fish. we got them a 5 man limit of 30 walleye to take home. Had a great trip out with a father and son this morning. We trolled out towards the canada line and got this crew their limits of walleye. It was beautiful on the lake today.

We launched at 7:30 and where setting lines east of Kelly's island along the border around 8 AM. We ran bandits back 85 to 100 blue chrome, we ran flicker minnows back 50/100 with 2 oz perch colors, we ran 40 jets with blue and white silver backed spoons and phantom dagger #7 back 80 to 100 and dipsy's set at 0 back 50. speed was 2.3 to 2.7 everything we ran caught fish. It was fish after fish with several big white bass that my customers wanted to keep and a 31" and 28" as our big fish. customers brought in their 4 man and my first mate (my son) reeled in his limit and i reeled in a couple for dinner too. I got them all filleted up and bagged for them and they had a great cooler of fish that should last into winter. Fantastic day on the lake with a happy birthday crew. We are all blessed to have such a great fishery to enjoy and things are looking great for our future walleye population. Wow Wow and Wow did we have a great trip Monday morning with a really nice couple from West Virginia. When the husband called he said they had a bad trip in the outer-banks not catching any fish. He said he just wanted his wife to be able to catch some fish. Boy did she ever, 31”, 26”, 28” some great fish. They had a blast and so did I. They said they will be back again in the fall to fish some more.

We had a very Productive trip running out of Lorain this afternoon with a father and son-in-law from Iowa. We fished in deeper water north of the dumping grounds out of Lorain, Ohio towards the Canada boarder and found a nice grade of Walleye for them. We caught over 30 walleye and sent them home with their limits for some good dinners.

Great Saturday morning trip with a family from Virginia. First time walleye fishing for them all and we boated over 30 walleye we sent them all back but three to live another day, kept just enough for supper since they are traveling on to Canada. Had a really fun second trip with a couple cool cats and their boys from Cleveland Saturday afternoon. We had a blast laughing and singing fishing songs while we boated 30 walleye. We filleted them up and sent them home with their limit.

Had a nice trip out of Huron yesterday morning before the rain. We went straight out just east of the dump in 42 foot of water. There where very large globs of hatching mayfly in the water about 10 to 15 feet down. The walleye where mixed in with them and very difficult to mark on your graph. So we drifted and cast weapons rigs with purple and black beads with hammered brass blades. We only needed a ten count as the fish where very shallow. Sometimes we would set the bail and start a slow retrieve right away. Most fish hit on the swing. For those of you that have never heard of the swing, when you cast you should cast up wind or cross wind and let the drift take the rig back or away from you, as the drift turns the direction of the rig from sliding with the drift to against the drift this is called the swing. your line should be in a curved transition in the water. I rig my rods with high vis yellow braid so i can actually see the swing in the water. At one point the wind flat stopped so i had to start the trolling motor to create the drift. We caught around 40 walleye in 3.5 hours of fishing and kept our 18 fish with a bonus perch. Great day on the lake. Had a great trip with a father and daughter from Columbus today. They where very hands on and wanted to do some drifting and casting. We drifted the dump and cast weapons rigs with 3/4 oz weights and caught them one after the other. We caught around 50 walleye today and they took home a their limits. We trolled after the wind died and used Phantom Dagger 7's and double blade harnesses and they worked great. I hope to have this crew back some time they where a lot of fun.

Had a great trip today with 3 generations. We boated a four man limit in 2 hours fishing in Lorain. We used phantom Dagger 7's and spoon harnesses and the fishing was fantastic. Lots of fun and we beat the rain.

We had a great time participating in the LEWT championship in Huron Ohio over the weekend. We pre-fished Thursday and found some nice fish. we couldn't get them going on Friday then Saturday was a blow day. Sunday we got on them again and pulled a nice bag. We finished 18th out of 60. We learned a lot about how to target big walleye and are looking forward to fishing the series again next year. We pulled bandits and phantom dagger 7's which work very well we fished shallow water for our fish.

We had a blast on the lake today catching a 7 man limit with several double and triple catches. We pulled bandits on the north side of Kelly's island 75 to 90 back did the work caught a few on bottom bouncers. 1.5 to 2.0 was the speed lots of S turns helped. the two 14 year old's on the boat had a blast they reeled till their arms hurt.

Had a really great day today with a 7 man limit in 4 hours. Bandits and bottom bouncers mixed, bandits took most of the fish 70 to 80 back 1.7 to 2.0 mph south and west side of kelly's island.

Had my father son and a family friend today. We caught a 4 man limit in just 2 hours. the fishing has been fantastic. We fished the southwest corner of Kelly's Island and caught most on bandits back 70 to 80 at 1.7mph golds and chromes worked great. caught a few on worm harnesses and bottom bouncers. Really fun morning on the lake.

We fished the LEWT tournament over the weekend pulling bandits all around Marblehead lighthouse. Lots of fish in the area and we pulled a few big fish. Not enough to place but we are in the top half of the field.

Had a nice training trip today with some port clinton locals that have been struggling to catch fish with their boat. So we showed them some different water to explain the difference between too dirty and clean enough water. We talked about speed control and depth of bottom bouncers. We managed to catch them a 2 man limit in the process. They called me the next day to inform me they caught a 2 man limit on their own using the techniques we discussed the day prior. I'm glad I was able to help them get more fish in their boat.

The fishing couldn't get much better than the past 3 days. Sun shine, warm weather and active chomping fish. We caught a 3 man limit all three days by 10 am at the latest. Had a lot of fun with these guys and they have booked a week for same time next spring. Can't wait to fish with them again.

What a morning.. we got a three man limit in an hour and a half. The fish where chomping this morning. Gold and orange bandits and crawler harness on bottom bouncer 1.5 to 2.2 mph 70 to 90 back did the work. what a blast it is to catch fish like that. Hope to duplicate tomorrow.

Started a 6 day charter with a 2 man crew from Wisconsin today and it went well we pulled a three man limit north of kelly's island on bandits in some big waves. gold and chrome 1.7 to 2.2 mph did the job. My afternoon trip started late and we started fishing at 4 and called it at 7 pm. we pulled them 18 walleye in 3 hours of fishing. had to move west of south bass to fish as the waves kept building. Both cool crews with nice fish.

We started out morning trip at 8 am today and headed north out of mazurik. We found some good marks and set lines and started catching fish at a steady pace. We trolled with Bandits 1.5 to 1.7 gold and chrome. We ended up with 16 and it got a little bumpy and they decided to call it a day. Nice trip with some great guys.

We had a good few days fishing with some great guys from Wisconsin. We had to fight the waves and the wind but we made it happen and got a wall hanger for Doug. 9.5 lbs 30". We had a wall hanger hooked and 5 feet from the back of the boat for Gary but she came unbuttoned, almost took a bandit to the face. Limits of fish for them to take home as well. We really caught some great fish. Up high in the water column and all on bandits 1.5 to 2 mph chrome and gold with any other color on it did the job. Back at it Friday morning every day straight for a week.

Had a blast fishing Lake Erie with this crew from Indiana. They had a charter cancel on them on Friday so they called me to see if i could fit them in Friday afternoon and we made it work and got them an 8 man limit. We where back out again on Saturday and got another 7 man limit. It was windy and muddy but we stayed on the fish and found clean enough water to catch them. all on bandits and top 20's orange gold purple pink chartreuse all caught fish 15 feet down to 30 feet deep fish where all over the water column caught some real nice fish 30" was biggest fish.

Had a Great trip with a fellow from MI that inherited a boat and wanted some training on how to troll for walleye. We showed him several techniques to use thru-ought the seasons and managed to boat some nice walleye at the same time. All fish came on bandits 30 to 35 feet down north of kelly's island.

We had a great day fishing on Lake Erie today. We went searching for big fish and had to find clean water after the big blow. We ended up north of Kelly's Island and we found some nice fish. We caught them on perfect 10 pink lemonade and chrome blue bandits 15 to 25 feet down over 45 feet of water. It was a bumpy ride out there today not a lot of action the fishing was slow. there are tons of marks so our future looks great just need some nice weather.

Fished with a few customers on Friday 4/5 and it was rough in the morning and very muddy from the big blow that came thru Thursday night. took some time but we found some fish trolling north of Kelly's and the finished the day jigging on the reefs in front of oak harbor. they finished with their two man limit.

Saturday I fished with a friend and we where looking for big fish. the biggest we could find was 7.5 lbs but we had a nice day on the lake and he took home a limit.

Sunday was a trip with a crew of 5 and they wanted to fish for big walleye. we trolled north of the reef complex in front of oak harbor and we trolled up some very nice walleye. a 10lb, 2 - 9lb, 2 - 8lb and a basket full of smaller fish but all where solid nice fish. We trolled 1.3 mph and any color worked as long as it was blue. The fish wanted blue and husky jerks worked the best. Bandits where second favorite. great day on Lake Erie.

We met at Mazuriks at 8 am and headed out around 8:30. we went into shallower water this morning because the wind blew out of the north all night and i marked a lot of fish at 35' to 38' the day prior and i thought maybe it would clean up that water a little and we could catch them. I was wrong.. dang it.. and it was still too muddy, we trolled there for about 2 hours and caught one really nice fish on the bottom.

We moved back north and trolled south with the wind and picked up 2 over the dumping ground. Then the wind changed to out of the west and slowed a bit and we followed that mud line again west to east slow slow and slow. The temp dropped 10 degrees from the day prior and slowed the fishing way down, the bite was not nearly as good as saturday.

We kept working and ended up with a nice 29.5" fish ohio and about a 3 man limit. took some moving around and keeping after it for that. same program as saturday worked but we used more perfect 10's since the cold moved in and that seemed to help. the fish wanted everything slow. 

most fish caught over 40' to 47' of water 20' to 30' deep perfect 10's 20/20 and 20/30 caught most of them.

it was a nice day after lunch and i had a nice time making some new friend and sharing fish stories. Today may be the last fishable weekend for a while but it was very enjoyable to get the boat out and suck up some sun. Hope for more weather like this soon.

We met at mazuriks at 8:30 and launched about 9 am. headed out to about 40' of water between kellys and marblehead and started marking fish just north of the muddy water. had a quick training on how to set lines with snap weights and boards and we started fishing.

We ran perfect 10's at 20/20 and 30/30 with 2 oz then some husky jerks and some bandits deeper and out the back with stern planers. i run the stern planers because the boat pushes the fish deeper and the stern planers run them right into the fish after we cross over them. we caught about 6 fish on those today. we covered the water column from 15' to 30' deep catching fish on all lines at every depth any bright color seemed to work nothing stood out.

we ran straight east out to about 47' of water and caught fish consistantly the whole way. The wind died down around noon to 2 and the fishing died off. the wind picked back up at 2 and we started catching them again. we didn't even need a trolling motor most of today, we drifted along with the wind between .8 and 1.2 and steered with the main in the water, great for gas mileage.

We ended up with 3 fish ohio's a 4 man limit and 3 for the captain. The michigan crew had the best day walleye fishing they have ever had. it was an amazing day on the lake for January hope for more soon.

We made it out on saginaw bay sunday after the big blos on saturday. we had a crew of 5. it took a while to find the fish as they where scattered all over from the blow. we ended up with 29 keepers a few 22" and we threw back several 12" and 13" fish. ended up a good day we pulled spinner harnesses on or near the bottom 1.2 to 1.5 MPH to get the fish in 24' of water.

we fished on Lake Erie today in the first tournament of the year for us and for the first time this year on LAke Erie on the new boat. Fishing was tough we ended with 9 walleye 2 on husky jerks by Marblehead the other 7 on spinner harnesses near G can. We finished 28 out of 58 no big fish today fun day to be on the water with the new boat had a nice day.
